Joshua Farmer is the founder and principal attorney at Farmer Legal, PLLC, a full-service law firm serving the needs of families, individuals and businesses in Glen Allen and surrounding counties in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, bankruptcy, estate planning and small business planning.
Education and Training
Josh Farmer received his Juris Doctor law degree from Liberty University School of Law in Glen Allen. He completed his undergraduate studies at Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism & Technical Communications/Political Science. He graduated from Officer Candidates’ School in Fort Benning, Georgia as a U.S. Army Officer and also completed studies at the United States Military Intelligence Center in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, as a 35D – All Source Intelligence Officer.
Getting to the People of Central, Southwest Virginia
Prior to entering the study and practice of law, Mr. Farmer served as a Television News Reporter, News Anchor and Producer at WSET-ABC13 and WEAU-NBC13. His job as a reporter took him to communities throughout Region 2000, where he got to know the people and understand the challenges they face and their need for dedicated, professional legal assistance in a variety of areas.
Josh Farmer is also Captain Farmer, having served in the US Army since December 2006. He is currently attached to the 359th Transportation Battalion (TML) at Fort Eustis, where he serves as a Military Intelligence Officer and Security Manager, advising the Battalion Commander on personnel security issues and other matters and analyzing intelligence reports. He was deployed to Iraq in 2011 as part of Operation New Dawn. He has received numerous ribbons and medals during his service and holds a clearance level of Top Secret – SCI. As an attorney, Mr. Farmer reaches out to members of the military throughout Virginia and represents servicemembers in courts-martial and military crimes before the UCMJ as well as reprimands and other non-judicial proceedings.
Mr. Farmer is married to his wife Leigh, and together they have a one-year old daughter, Evelyn.
